Michael Stebleton is a Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities' College of Education and Human Development. His research focuses on college student success factors, career development, and experiences of underserved populations. He teaches courses including First Year Inquiry, Study Abroad programs, and graduate-level seminars on career development and college student mental health.
Dr. Stebleton holds a Ph.D. in Work, Community, and Family Education from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, an M.A. in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology, and a B.A. summa cum laude in Child Psychology from the same institution.
His research explores immigrant and first-generation student experiences, food insecurity on campuses, career development frameworks, and the impact of social media on student well-being. Recent publications examine how career courses influence student planning and how social media affects sense of belonging.
Dr. Stebleton received the National Career Development Association Merit Award in 2017. He maintains professional affiliations with ASHE, ACPA, NASPA, and NCDA.
