Michael Starling

Michael Starling is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity in the Department of Management Information Systems and Supply Chain at West Virginia University, affiliated with the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences. He also serves as the Director of Education and Training for the Cyber-Resilience Resource Center (CRRC), overseeing educational initiatives and experiential learning projects.

• Teaches cybersecurity, systems administration, and information security management at undergraduate and graduate levels
• Focuses on hands-on labs, applied research, and industry certifications like CompTIA Security+ and CEH
• Develops cybersecurity training programs for critical infrastructure in West Virginia

Professional Experience: With over 20 years in IT and cybersecurity, he previously held leadership roles at WVU, including Acting Director of IT and Lead Information Security Administrator for the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences.
