Michael Sipser is the Donner Professor of Mathematics and a member of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) at MIT. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in 1979 and has been at MIT since 1980. His roles include Chairman of Applied Mathematics, Head of the Mathematics Department (2004–2014), and Dean of Science (2014–2020).
