Michael Simon

Prof. Dr. Michael Simon is a Professor for Cultural Anthropology at Mainz University and a Faculty member of the GRK Life Sciences – Life Writing Research Program. His work bridges ethnological and cultural studies perspectives, focusing on the intersection of physical and cultural aspects of human experience.

His research includes a German Research Foundation (DFG) grant-funded project on esoteric healing practices in rural Germany and historical disaster analysis, notably the 1954 Blons avalanche. He emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, aiming to integrate cultural anthropology with medical and scientific disciplines through the GRK platform.
