Michael Schönwolff is a doctoral candidate and research associate at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), affiliated with the Department of Science and Technology Policy under Prof. Dr. Ruth Müller. His research focuses on science and technology policy, migration-related challenges, and the dynamics of evidence production during crises like the Corona pandemic. He holds a master’s degree in sociology from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and a degree in social work from KSH Munich.

Research interests include the intersection of civil society organizations and migration/diversity challenges, as well as the de/re-stabilization of evidence in crisis contexts. He contributed to the BMBF-funded project ZOMiDi (2018–2021) and currently works on the DFG-funded project “De- and Restabilization of Evidence in the Corona Crisis” within the Research Group “Practicing Evidence – Evidencing Practice.”
His master’s thesis analyzed migrant inclusion processes within an AIDS Service Organization in Germany, reflecting his engagement with health policy and qualitative methods.
