Michael S. Beardsley, Ph.D., ATC, serves as an Assistant Professor in the College of Sciences at DeSales University. He holds a BS in Sports Medicine from Canisius College (with Athletic Trainer certification), an MS in Mechanical Engineering focused on biomechanics from SUNY Buffalo, and a PhD in Exercise Science specializing in biomechanics from SUNY Buffalo.
His research centers on human body mechanics, injury etiology, and practical applications for injury prevention and care. Primary interests include biomechanics, sports medicine, and athletic training, reflected in courses like Biomechanics, Motor Learning, and Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries where real-world application is emphasized.
Prior to academia, Dr. Beardsley worked as a certified athletic trainer at Houghton College and interned with the Buffalo Bills.
