Michael R. Hoffmann is the John S. and Sherry Chen Professor of Environmental Science, Emeritus at Caltech. His research spans environmental chemistry, semiconductor photocatalysis, electrochemistry, and water treatment technologies. His group develops advanced oxidation processes for pollution control and solar fuels production.
