Michael R. Higgins

Michael R. Higgins is a Clinical Lecturer in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Iona College, located on the Bronxville Campus. He holds an Au.D. from the Graduate Center, City University of New York, alongside an MPhil from the same institution, an MS from Adelphi University, and a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park.

His teaching responsibilities include courses in audiology, speech and hearing science, anatomy & physiology, and research methods. With over 20 years of experience as an audiologist, Dr. Higgins has worked in medical, educational, private practice, and hearing aid industry settings. His current research focuses on the effects of language on speech perception in background noise.
