Michael Parfett

Michael Parfett is a Teaching Professor at the School of Business, Stevens Institute of Technology. He holds an MS in Mathematics from Lehigh University (1971) and a BA in Mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University (1969). With over 30 years of experience in IT, business, and entrepreneurship, he has held senior roles at AT&T, Salomon Brothers, and Computer Horizons, and founded companies like FourPars, LLC and Chimes.

His research focuses on IT strategies, emerging technologies (AI, quantum computing, etc.), strategic management, leadership, and global business models. He advises Capstone projects and teaches courses in IT strategy, entrepreneurship, and global business.

Parfett has received multiple teaching awards, including the Provost Online Teaching Excellence Award and IBM Faculty Award. He actively serves on institutional committees, including AACSB Assurance of Learning and online learning initiatives, and contributes to non-profits like Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic.
