Michael Palmer

Michael Palmer serves as an Instructor of Informational Systems and Software Development within the Cyber Security and Information Systems Department at Maryville University's John E. Simon School of Business. He holds a Master of Arts in History and Gender Studies and a Master of Science in Cyber Security, and is a certified sixth through 12th-grade teacher. He also founded and leads Code Red Education, an initiative highlighted in the St. Louis Business Journal for teaching coding to 4,000 students.

His research examines technology's societal, political, cultural, and gendered impacts with emphasis on civic technology applications. Palmer teaches iOS App Development, Advanced iOS App Development, Data Structures, Web Applications, and Object Oriented Programming. Prior to Maryville, he served as a K-12 teacher/curriculum developer in Ferguson Florissant School District and Director of Technology Solutions in Parkway School District, demonstrating sustained commitment to educational technology infrastructure.
