About
Michael O'Connor is Professor and Chair of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Drexel University, with joint appointments in the Departments of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science (BEES) and Biology. His research examines thermal/hydric constraints on reptile and amphibian ecology.
He develops mechanistic models of heat-mass exchange in ectotherms and gas exchange in sea turtle nests. Field studies focus on gopher tortoise behavior and conservation strategies for threatened species.
O'Connor teaches courses in Physiological Ecology and Biostatistics. His lab combines field data with computational approaches to predict species responses to environmental change.
