Michael Naguib is an Associate Professor and Ken & Ruth Arnold Early Career Professor in Science and Engineering at Tulane University's School of Science & Engineering, Department of Physics. His research focuses on pioneering next-generation energy solutions through innovative 2D materials for advanced energy storage and conversion technologies.
Education: B.S.E. and M.Sc. from Cairo University, Egypt; Ph.D. from Drexel University.
Research Interests: Dr. Naguib leads the Novel Energy Materials lab, which specializes in:
- Development of novel 2D materials including MXenes and transition metal carbo-chalcogenides
- Applications in batteries, supercapacitors, and electrocatalysis
- Sustainable and cost-effective electrochemical energy systems
- Nanomaterial synthesis, characterization, and photothermal processing
Publications: Recent articles explore MXene-based hybrid materials for energy applications, environmental remediation, biomedicine, and superconductivity, with extensive work on material design, interfacial interactions, and multifunctional applications.
