Dr. Michael Mrazek is an Associate Professor at UTHealth Houston’s School of Public Health (Austin campus) and holds a Visiting Professor appointment in the Department of Psychology at UT Austin. His work leverages emerging technologies to enhance adolescent mental health and focus, exemplified by co-creating Finding Focus, an evidence-based EdTech intervention reaching over 45,000 students. He is also a co-founder of the Center for Mindfulness & Human Potential at UC Santa Barbara.
Dr. Mrazek earned a BA in Psychology from Rice University and a PhD in Psychological & Brain Sciences from UC Santa Barbara. He is currently accepting doctoral students interested in AI applications and governance in education and public mental health.
His research intersects psychology, education, and public health, with a focus on scalable solutions for youth well-being. He has authored the book Presence of Mind, which provides a practical framework for mindfulness and meditation practices.
