Michael Meese

Dr. Michael Meese is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown's Center for Security Studies, teaching 'Economics of War.' A retired U.S. Army Brigadier General, he served 32 years including as Professor and Head of Social Sciences at West Point. His deployments include combat zones in Afghanistan and Iraq where he contributed to strategic plans including 'the surge.' He authors books on national security and holds a PhD from Princeton University.

Research Focus: Defense economics, national security institutions, and military-civilian relations. His work analyzes economic tools in statecraft and evolving security challenges.
