Dr. Michael McKeever is a Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and EDI Lead in the Pharmacy department at Swansea University. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Medicinal Chemistry from Queen’s University Belfast and an MSc/PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Missouri–St. Louis, USA, where his research focused on novel drug design against antimicrobial resistance. He also completed a postgraduate certificate in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
His expertise spans Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Synthesis, Antimicrobials, and EDI in education. He teaches modules such as Pharmaceutical Chemistry, General Chemistry, and EDI in Education, alongside advanced topics like Drug Development and Regulation. His research interests include combating antimicrobial resistance and promoting inclusive educational practices.
He is based at the Singleton Campus in the Grove Building and is available for postgraduate supervision. His ORCID is 0000-0002-5034-6371.
