Michael Mapundu

Dr. Michael Mapundu is a Research Fellow at Northumbria University's Applied Sciences Department, specializing in AI-driven bioinformatics and public health informatics. He holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from Wits University, an MSc in Information Technology from Vaal University of Technology, and a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems from Midlands State University.

His research focuses on leveraging AI/ML for genomic data analysis and public health systems, including NLP for verbal autopsy analysis and scalable cloud solutions (AWS).
