Dr. Michael Long is a Lecturer in the UCD School of Civil Engineering at University College Dublin, specializing in geotechnical engineering and sustainable ground improvement techniques. He is a key researcher in the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funded iCRAG center, focusing on bio- and enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP/ECIP) to strengthen granular soils while reducing carbon emissions. His work spans collaborations with Queen’s University Belfast, Arizona State University, Georgia Tech, and University of California, Davis.
