Michael Lang is a full Professor of Tax Law at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), where he has taught since 1988 and held a professorship since 1994. He serves as Head of the Institute for Austrian and International Tax Law and Academic Director of the Postgraduate LL.M. Program in International Tax Law. Previously, he was Vice Rector for Human Resources (2015-2019) and Vice Rector for Research and Human Resources (2019-2023) at WU, and Chairman of Austria's National University Federation.

Research Focus: Professor Lang's work centers on international tax law, double taxation conventions, EU tax harmonization, treaty interpretation methodologies, and cross-border tax policy. He has particular expertise in the intersection of domestic tax law, bilateral treaties, and European Union directives.
