Michael Kugler

Michael Kugler is Professor of History at Northwestern College since 1994, renowned for making history relevant through critical thinking and popular culture connections. His scholarship bridges humanities and Christian faith while examining historical narratives across media.

His innovative work analyzes graphic novels and comic strips as historical narratives, notably planning publication of his father's WWII Pacific War comics featuring anthropomorphic frogs. Recent projects include a book on Christian approaches to historical scholarship.
