Michael J. Lewis

Michael J. Lewis is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Director at the School of Computing, Binghamton University. He joined the university in 1999 and oversees the NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site in Computer Science. His research focuses on grid computing, cloud computing, distributed systems, and web services.

He was an original designer of the Legion Grid Computing System and has authored over 40 refereed research publications. His accolades include the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2007-2008), NSF CAREER Award, and a Department of Energy Early Career award. Lewis is deeply involved in undergraduate education, leading the REU program and emphasizing teaching excellence.
