Research Interests: Dr. Hawley specializes in Sikh and Hindu studies, South Asian religious diasporas in Canada, religion and violence, and the role of religion in public policy and multiculturalism. His work bridges theoretical inquiry and applied contexts, particularly in North American and Canadian contexts.

Courses Taught: He instructs courses such as Religion and Violence, Sikhism, Hinduism, Topics in Hinduism/Sikhism, Asian Religions in North America, and a developing course on Religion and the Public Sphere.
