Michael Harland

Dr. Michael Lee Harland is Assistant Professor of Music at Trevecca Nazarene University's School of Music and Worship Arts. His academic work examines 19th-century symphonic music through interdisciplinary lenses including hermeneutics, theology, and philosophy.

Education: Ph.D. in Musicology from University of Texas at Austin, Master of Music in music history from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Tennessee Technological University.

Teaching: Offers courses in music history, music theory, world music, and fine arts. His pedagogical approach connects historical repertoire with broader cultural and philosophical contexts.
