Professor Dr. Michael Germann holds the Chair of Public Law, Church-State Law, and Canon Law at the Faculty of Law of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg since 2002. He is also a Judge of the State Constitutional Court of Saxony-Anhalt (terms 2015–2022 and 2022–2029). His research focuses on constitutional and administrative law, with specialized expertise in data protection, public media law, and threat prevention, as well as church-state law and canon law. The latter aligns with the university’s historical identity, rooted in its 1502 founding by Martin Luther.
