Michael Gargan

Michael Gargan is an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice department at Delaware Valley University since 2017. He combines academic instruction with extensive practical experience in law enforcement.

• BS in Criminal Justice (minor in Psychology) from Gwynedd Mercy University
• MA in Criminal Justice from Saint Joseph’s University

His research interests focus on policing, juvenile justice, criminology, and police policy, reflecting his 32-year career in law enforcement. Teaching areas include American Police, Juvenile Delinquency, Juvenile Justice, and Criminology.

Notable career roles include patrolman, juvenile officer, detective, and lieutenant, with responsibilities in hiring, policy writing, internal affairs, and social media management. He graduated from the Northwestern School of Police and Staff Command.
