Michael Alexis Garcia, Ph.D., is a Researcher at the Population Research Center (PRC) within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. He also serves as Project Manager for the Health and Relationships Project, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), and Assistant Director of the Council on Contemporary Families (CCF) under Dr. Jennifer Glass. His research focuses on social relationships, gender, marital dynamics, and health inequities, including projects on stress in same-sex marriages, racial disparities in family loss outcomes, and work-family policies' impact on child well-being.
