Michael Fine

Michael Fine is an Honorary Professor at Macquarie University's Department of Sociology, School of Communication, Society and Culture. Previously, he served as Associate Professor and Head of Department (2008-2012). His research focuses on social policy, ageing, care systems, and human services, with over 30 years of academic and advisory experience. He leads the ARC Linkage project on the Australian Community Care Outcomes Measure (ACCOM) and serves as editor of the International Journal of Care and Caring.

Education: Prior to Macquarie (since 2000), he was a Senior Research Fellow at UNSW's Social Policy Research Centre. Research Interests: Social division of care, community aged care outcomes, intergenerational dependencies, and human service effectiveness.

Projects: Includes NSW Ministerial Advisory Committee on Ageing work, Northside Community Forum leadership, and collaborative projects with the Australian Health Services Research Institute. Awards: Fellow of the Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG).
