Michael Edwards

Dr. Michael Edwards is a Lecturer (Teaching) at University College London's The Bartlett School of Planning, with a career spanning over five decades. His work critically examines the interplay between property markets and urban planning in the UK and Europe, focusing on rent theory, housing crises, and community-led urban action. As a Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow, he has contributed to major policy analyses like the Future of Cities programme and co-founded networks such as INURA and JustSpace. His teaching includes modules on European planning practices and citizen participation, though some have been discontinued due to budget constraints.
