Michael E. Dunn

Michael E. Dunn is a Professor and Licensed Psychologist (FL #PY5502) at the University of Central Florida's Department of Psychology. He serves as Director of the HEAL Lab, Co-Director of SURG, and Associate Director of Clinical Training for the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. His work focuses on alcohol/drug expectancies, prevention programs for youth, and cognitive processes in substance use and sexual assault.

Research emphasizes developing evidence-based interventions for schools and communities, with programs implemented in 19 states. He teaches graduate/undergraduate courses on substance use treatment, psychobiology of drug use, and research methods.

Current grants include projects funded by NIAAA and NCAA, addressing alcohol literacy curricula and bystander intervention programs. His over 200 publications focus on expectancy-based prevention strategies and deviance regulation theories.
