Michael Dobos

Dr. Michael Dobos is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he teaches first- and second-year dental students in simulation clinical courses. He previously served as Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry/Comprehensive Care for 9 years until his semi-retirement in 2020.

• Education: BS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1975), DMD from University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (1979), and a General Practice Residency at Michael Reese Hospital (1980).

His clinical and educational focus centers on restorative dentistry and comprehensive patient care, with a strong emphasis on training future dentists. He maintained a solo dental practice in Bethel Park, PA, from 1980 to 2005, during which he also served as a part-time clinical instructor at Pitt (1981–1993).

• Awards: Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (1998).

In addition to academia, Dr. Dobos has held administrative roles, including department chair, and contributed to community initiatives as a trustee of the Bethel Park Community Foundation and a PIAA football official for 38 years.
