Michael Demchik

Michael Demchik is a Professor of Silviculture at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's College of Natural Resources. His research focuses on woodland habitat management, savanna/barrens restoration, stem quality improvement through density control, and developing American hazelnut as a commercial crop. He has established over a thousand acres of restoration demonstration sites across Wisconsin.

Professional service includes membership in the WDNR Forestry Advisory Committee, Society for Ecological Restoration (Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner), and Society of American Foresters (Certified Forester). He previously held extension forestry positions in Minnesota and Pennsylvania.
