About
Michael David is Professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at The Daffodil Centre (University of Sydney) and Adjunct Professor at Griffith University. His research integrates biostatistics, epidemiology, and public health, with a focus on cancer outcomes, health interventions, and equity. He holds a PhD, MBiostat, MEd, MEpi, MSc, BEd, BSc(Hons), and DipEd, and leads multidisciplinary studies across clinical and population health domains.
His research interests span:
- Biostatistical methodology for complex health data
- Cancer epidemiology including survivorship and screening
- Public health interventions in vaccination, tobacco control, and chronic disease
- Health economic evaluations of clinical and preventive services
Recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate strong emphasis on:
- Cancer screening program implementation and equity analyses
- Longitudinal studies of behavioral health interventions
- Meta-analyses of diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy
- Global health applications in resource-limited settings
He currently supervises PhD candidate Junyi Li's work on cancer cure modeling using population data. His NHMRC-funded grant (2022) addresses inequities in cervical screening for people with intellectual disabilities through the CIRCE project.
