Dr. Michael Daneshvar, M.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Urology. He is a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist specializing in the surgical treatment of bladder, kidney, prostate, penile, testicular, and adrenal cancers using both robotic and open techniques.
His research focuses on hereditary diseases and genomic alterations in genitourinary cancers, with additional interests in novel imaging technologies such as artificial intelligence and PSMA-based imaging, as well as focal therapy and ablation for prostate cancer. He is well published in his field, contributing to advancements in urologic oncology.
Dr. Daneshvar completed his medical education at Chicago Medical School, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he earned his M.D. with Distinction in Research (MDDR) and a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences. He completed his internship and residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University and pursued advanced fellowship training at the National Cancer Institute (NCI)/National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Society of Urologic Oncology Fellow.
His clinical and research work is centered at the UCI Department of Urology, contributing to patient care, education, and research initiatives. He is part of multidisciplinary teams including the UCI Prostate Cancer Center and other specialized centers within the department.
