Michael Carter

Dr. Michael Carter is an Adjunct Professor in the Department Master of Digital Media at Toronto Metropolitan University. With a 25-year career in 3D/2D animation and VFX (500+ broadcast hours), his expertise bridges digital media, cultural heritage, and AI. He holds a PhD in Anthropology (Archaeology) from Western University, a Master’s in Education from the University of Toronto, and postgraduate diplomas in Computer Graphics from Sheridan College.

His research explores AI's cultural enculturation, virtual archaeology for hazardous site analysis, and 3D point DNA in digital objects. He co-developed Toronto Met's Master of Digital Media program, earning the 2015 President’s Blue and Gold Award.
