Dr. Michael Carroll is Reader in Reproductive Science at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he directs the MSc Clinical Science/Cellular Science program for the NHS Scientist Training Programme. A HCPC-registered clinical embryologist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, he researches molecular andrology, sperm epigenetics, and environmental impacts on fertility.
His research employs pyro-sequencing, NGS, and miRNA analysis to study sperm DNA methylation patterns in relation to lifestyle factors. He serves as scientific advisor for the HABSelect Steering Committee and Deputy for ESHRE's Andrology Special Interest Group.
With honorary status at Cumbria Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Trust, he actively engages the public on fertility science through media appearances at BBC Radio, New Scientist, and international fertility exhibitions.
