Michael C. Abrams

Michael C. Abrams is a Clinical Professor at the University of Maryland's School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation. A Puerto Rican architect, he authored The Art of City Sketching (2021) and is working on Metaphoric Architecture (2025). He has taught at institutions including George Washington University and Columbia College Chicago.

Education:

• Bachelor in Environmental Design - University of Puerto Rico

His research explores architectural sketching, metaphoric design translation, and contemporary architectural pedagogy. His sketch exhibitions have been displayed at the National Building Museum and international venues.

He leads workshops on architectural drawing techniques in Washington, DC.
