Michael C FitzGerald is the Kluger Family Professor of Art History at Trinity College, where he has been a faculty member since 1988. His academic background includes a Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. from Columbia University, along with an M.B.A. from Columbia and an A.B. from Stanford University. His teaching and research focus on modern and contemporary art, particularly the work of Pablo Picasso, 20th-century European and American art, and the institutional frameworks of the art world.
Before joining Trinity College, he worked in the Impressionist department at Christie's auction house in New York. He has collaborated extensively with major institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Museu Picasso in Barcelona.
