Michael Booth

Michael Booth is a Lecturer in English at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. His research focuses on cognitive literary theory and Shakespeare studies, exemplified by his book Shakespeare and Conceptual Blending: Cognition, Creativity, Criticism, praised by Shakespeare Quarterly as a groundbreaking application of blending theory to Shakespeare's texts. He has held fellowships from the Mellon Foundation and the John Carter Brown Library, and previously served as Assistant Dean of Harvard University's Summer School. Since relocating to Ireland, he has taught at UCC and Maynooth University, and contributed to RTÉ Radio 1 programming.

His publications include articles in Early Modern Culture and The Yale Journal of Criticism, alongside contributions to edited collections. His work bridges cognitive science and literary analysis, offering innovative frameworks for interpreting Early Modern texts. Awards reflect recognition of his interdisciplinary scholarship.
