Michael Becker-Peth

Michael Becker-Peth is an Associate Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University Rotterdam. His research focuses on behavioral operations management, including inventory management, supply chain contracting, and healthcare operations. He holds a PhD and MSc from the University of Cologne, where he previously served as an Assistant Professor.

Research interests extend to bridging behavioral economics with operational decision-making, particularly in healthcare settings like neonatal intensive care staffing and supply chain dynamics. His work has been published in top journals such as Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and European Journal of Operational Research.

He advises PhD candidates in Supply Chain Management and actively contributes to academic peer review for journals like Decision Sciences and Management Science. He is a member of the INFORMS Behavioral Operations Management Society and has organized research seminars on topics like newsvendor decision biases.
