Michael Anes

Michael Anes is Associate Professor of Psychology and Department Chair at Wittenberg University. His research examines visual cognition, particularly face recognition and hemispheric processing differences.

His cognitive psychology research investigates facial perception mechanisms, visual object recognition, and developmental aspects of perceptual expertise. He employs behavioral experiments and neurocognitive methods to study perceptual processing.

Anes has received teaching awards including the Omicron Delta Kappa Award for Excellence in Teaching and Collegium Award for Innovation. His recent publications explore social perception, chemosensory influences on judgment, and cognitive biases in group contexts.
