Dr. Michael Aidan Pope is an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) in the Department of History at University College London. His research focuses on early modern Iberian history (c. 1450–1800), particularly religious conversion and religious culture in the Atlantic World. He teaches courses on Atlantic history, empire, and race, including 'Race, Identity and Empire in the Iberian Atlantic World' and 'Black Lives in the South Atlantic.'
He holds a PhD from Birkbeck, University of London (2022). His recent publication examines proselytizing strategies in the Iberian Atlantic. Student support hours are available via Calendly for module-related discussions and feedback.
