Michaël Krajecki is a Professor at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA) and a member of the Laboratory of Intensive Computing and Image for Simulation (LICIIS - URCA/CEA). He currently serves as the Director of PEPR NumPEx for the CNRS.
His leadership roles include:
- Vice-president in charge of digital strategy at URCA (elected in 2007)
- Deputy regional delegate for research and technology for the Grand Est region (since 2015)
- AI project director for the Ministry of the Armed Forces and ministerial AI coordinator within the Defense AI Coordination Unit (CCIAD) of the Defense Innovation Agency (2019-2023)
His research focuses on high-performance computing, computing accelerators, and artificial intelligence, driving innovations in computational methods for scientific simulation and defense applications. This triad of research areas forms the foundation of his work across academic, regional policy, and national security contexts.
Krajecki has directed critical infrastructure initiatives including the ROMEO regional computing center and CReSTIC. His strategic leadership extends to the State-Region Plan Contract in Champagne-Ardenne and the Defense Innovation Agency where he headed the CCIAD unit during his tenure as ministerial AI coordinator.
