Micah Forshee

Micah Forshee is an Assistant Professor of Biology and Nursing at Greenville University, joining the faculty in Fall 2024. His teaching focuses on Microbiology and Cellular Biology, emphasizing hands-on undergraduate education that integrates faith and scientific inquiry. He holds a B.S. from Olivet Nazarene University and a Ph.D. from Baylor College of Medicine.

His research explores the role of gut microbiota in human health, particularly how diet influences these microbial communities. Additional interests include the microbiology of food systems and host-microbe symbiotic relationships. Forshee prioritizes fostering student engagement in scientific discovery while maintaining a Christian ethos in education.

Outside academia, he enjoys family outings to parks and exploring St. Louis’s cultural and culinary scenes.
