Mica Rutschke

Dr. Mica Rutschke is a faculty member at the University of Incarnate Word, serving as the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator in the School of Occupational Therapy. She holds a DHA from A.T. Still University and a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas.

Research Interests: Dr. Rutschke's work focuses on leadership development, mentoring, and practice management within occupational and physical therapy. Her expertise extends to strategic planning and data analytics in senior living and outpatient therapy settings. She is passionate about advancing occupational therapy education and leadership preparation.

Publications: Her research on leadership competencies in therapy has been published in the Journal of Health and Allied Sciences NU, highlighting national trends and mentoring needs among therapy leaders.

Teaching & Service: She previously served as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and instructor at A.T. Still University, teaching Practice Management, leading labs in Modalities, and delivering guest lectures. At UIW, she oversees doctoral capstone experiences, contributing significantly to advanced OT education.

Professional Experience: Dr. Rutschke has extensive leadership experience, managing over 20 outpatient therapy clinics across South Carolina and Tennessee, and providing strategic analytics for a national senior living organization.
