Mia Fuller

Mia Fuller is the Gladyce Arata Terrill Associate Professor of Italian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. A cultural anthropologist and urban-architectural historian, she specializes in the interplay between physical space and political power. Her research focuses on architecture and urban planning in the Italian colonies and Fascist memory in Italy.

Her notable works include the award-winning book Moderns Abroad: Architecture, Cities, and Italian Imperialism (2006), which earned a prize from the International Planning History Society. She is currently preparing a revised Italian edition of this book and a new monograph titled Monuments and Mussolini: A Cultural History of Fascist Memory.
