Mette Løvschal is a Professor in Archaeology at Aarhus University and affiliated with the Moesgaard Museum in Denmark. She specializes in landscape archaeology, focusing on land use change and persistence in Bronze Age and Early Iron Age Northwestern Europe.
Her research explores anthropogenic heathlands in Northern Europe as shared cultural and natural heritage. She leads the ANTHEA research project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC), which investigates prehistoric land management practices and their impact on contemporary landscapes.
As a LINXS fellow, she contributes to the Heritage Science theme, participating in Working Groups 3 (Advancing Analysis) and 6 (Communication).
