Meryem Simsek

Meryem Simsek is a researcher at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) since 2016. She earned her Dipl.-Ing. (2008) and Ph.D. (2013) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, as a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. Her academic career includes a post-doctoral visiting scientist role at Florida International University (2013) and a group leadership position at the Vodafone Chair Mobile Communication Systems at Technical University Dresden (2014). She chairs the IEEE ComSoc Tactile Internet technical sub-committee and serves as secretary of the IEEE P1918.1 working group, while leading the ETSI IP6 work item on IPv6-based Tactile Internet.
