Merridee L Bailey is a Postdoctoral ECR Teaching Associate in the Faculty of History at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Oriel College. She holds a BA, MA, and PhD from the Australian National University. Her research focuses on medieval and early modern morality, manuscript culture, and devotional practices. She has held fellowships including a Visiting Fellowship at Oriel College and the S. Ernest Sprott Fellowship. Her first book, *Socialising the Child in Late Medieval England*, examines childhood socialization through medieval texts. Current projects include a book on the historical evolution of meekness as a moral value.
