Meredith Smith

Meredith Smith is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the University of Adelaide's School of Allied Health Science and Practice within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. She holds expertise in pediatric rehabilitation, chronic pain assessment in children with cerebral palsy, and three-dimensional gait analysis. Currently completing a PhD on 'Tailoring Chronic Pain Assessment for Children and Young People with Cerebral Palsy,' her research focuses on adapting pain assessment tools for neurodevelopmental disabilities.

She earned a Master of Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice from Monash University, with a clinical translation project on community physiotherapy surveillance in cerebral palsy. Meredith is an APA Paediatric Physiotherapist and committee member for the APA Paediatric Special Interest Group. She maintains active clinical roles at Novita and the Women's and Children's Hospital, emphasizing hands-on pediatric care alongside academic responsibilities.

Her research output includes systematic reviews exploring pain assessment tools' psychometric properties and narrative reviews of chronic pain challenges in pediatric neurology.
