Meredith Saba

Meredith Saba is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Access, Research, and Instructional Services Department at Hunter Library, Western Carolina University. She oversees personnel and services supporting student, faculty, and staff research needs. With extensive international experience, she previously worked at the American University in Cairo, University of California, Davis, Indiana University Bloomington, and Yellowstone National Park, focusing on STEM librarianship and academic support.

• Education: PhD in Information Studies, MA in International Education (Middlebury College), MLS (Indiana University-Bloomington), BS (Ursinus College)

Her research examines globalization trends in higher education, library roles in international initiatives, and strategies to enhance academic success for international, ESL, and STEM students. She has lived and worked in five countries, including a stint at the United Nations Library in Vienna, and has traveled to over 80 nations. Her teaching emphasizes interdisciplinary information literacy skills for navigating digital information ecosystems.
