Meredith L. Miller is an Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Architecture program at the University of Michigan's A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. She joined as an A. Alfred Taubman Fellow from 2009-2010 and is a licensed architect and co-founder of T+E+A+M and MILLIGRAM-office, design practices focused on material innovation and environmental adaptation. Her research explores architecture’s materiality in relation to global climate challenges, post-natural ecologies, and sustainable urban development.
Education: B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia (UVA), M.Arch from Princeton University. Professional experience includes roles at Höweler + Yoon Architecture in New York and Boston, contributing to projects like Sky Courts and Hover.
Research highlights include collaborations on Southeast Asian urban inundation studies (published in Jakarta: Architecture+Adaptation) and the NSF-funded Post Rock project, a composite building material from waste plastics. Her work has been showcased at the Venice Biennale, Chicago Architecture Biennial, and in journals like MONU, Thresholds, and ARPA Journal.
Awards include the NSF Partnerships for Innovation Grant (2023) and recognition for T+E+A+M’s architectural installations. Her teaching focuses on design studios emphasizing sustainability and material experimentation.
